Sculpted Courtyard Residential Concept
An imagined setting and unbuilt concept. No real parcel, property offer or development permission is represented.
Project statement
Maison Pli is conceived as a single-storey white house folded around an open garden court. Flat roof planes, deep glazed recesses and one curved entrance wall give the building a precise, quiet identity.
Living, music, kitchen and dining occupy the shared wing. Three bedrooms, a study and a media room form the quieter side of the courtyard. An enclosed entrance gallery connects both wings, with solid walls protecting private rooms and service spaces.
Natural oak planks run through the dry interiors, paired with matching oak joinery, white plaster and matte-black frames. Pale honed limestone is reserved for wet rooms and exterior paving. Recessed and linear lighting is integrated into the architecture.
Reading the project
The courtyard is an outdoor room rather than leftover space between wings. Its open end frames the landscape, while the curved entrance creates a softer arrival at the edge. Oak boards, matching joinery and restrained lighting give continuity to rooms that differ in size, privacy and outlook.

Climate and technology

- Integrated television, audio, lighting controls, security and motorized shading remain part of the minimal interior. Door sensors reduce cooling output when large openings are open.
- Plant, ducts and maintenance access require coordinated professional design. Passive ventilation is used only when outdoor conditions permit.
